Phil and Mark

Phil and I have been busy in the studio the past several months working on Phil's new Doo Wop CD The Harmony Years.  Phil recorded all the vocal tracks and I added in all the instrumentation.  The CD is due the 1st of April.  We'll have more info for you on how you can purchase the CD.  It's a great record!

Phil & I had a blast performing for the annual 2011 Lumina Daze event at The Blockaid Runner in Wrightsville Beach, NC.  We were joined by some great bands, including Wilmington Big Band, Buddy Skipper and the Jetty Jumpers with Carey Patterson and Pug West and the Dixieland All-Stars.  We performed a 45 minute set of Everly Brothers hits and closed the evening with a 45 minute set of Olden Goldies.   It was an absolutely gorgeous night and we appreciate all the great comments we received during the evening.  Hopefully we can do this again!

Wow!  What a hot summer we have endured in the Wilmington, NC area.  Yet the beaches are hopping with lots of visitors.  Phil and I have had a great summer and we're excited about cooler weather and the dates we'll be performing in the coming couple of months.  A shout out to The New York Pasta House in downtown Wilmington.  We'll be performing there several times in the coming couple of months.  If you love great Italian food then you definitely need to make plans to come out for an evening of wonderful food while you listen to the hits of yesteryear with Phil & Mark!  Check out our performance dates and you'll see when we're scheduled to perform next.  

Sad to learn that Dan Peek, one of the founding members of the 70's group America passed away last week.  America was one of my favorite 70's band back when I was a teenager and learning how to play guitar.  One of my favorite Dan Peek songs was Lonely People. Great song.

Summer has arrived!  Whoop...whoop!  We're excited because we're busy lining up new gigs to perform the music we love.  In addition to performing in Topsail Beach, NC we'll be branching out this summer for a gigs in Wrighstville Beach & Southport, NC.  We're adding some great new songs to our repertoire including more Everly Brother's hits. Tight 2-part harmony is hard to beat....and the Everlys were masters at it.

Well, looks like Old Man Winter has packed his bags and Summer is approaching!  Phil & Mark are looking forward to several gigs this summer.  We look forward to sharing our music in Topsail Beach once again at The Thai Grill & The Beach Shop Grill.  The food is EXCELLENT at both restaurants.  So come on out and enjoy a wonderful meal and as you dine, you'll hear some great old tunes that will bring back sweet memories from days gone by.
